Stone Soup Celebration at the Aurora Community Garden
Soup captures the hearts and appetites of people of all ages, across all cultures. To celebrate this culinary dish the Aurora community gardeners harvested the ingredients directly from their gardens to create a ‘Stone Soup’ for all to enjoy. Everyone tossed in a few veggies into the pot and a scrumptious soup was created that reflected the wonderful flavours that have sprung out of the Aurora Community Garden this growing season!
York Region Food Network (YRFN) operates one of the largest community garden programs in Ontario with 225 families and organizations gardening with us each year. YRFN continues to offer programs, raise awareness and promote policy changes for increased access to affordable and nutritious food produced within a sustainable food system. Our vision is Food for Health – Food for All. To learn more about YRFN, visit our website at www.yrfn.ca
