St. Andrew's College MacPherson Hockey Tournament
For the past 27 years, St. Andrew’s College (SAC) has hosted some of the top high school hockey teams from across North America at the annual MacPherson Hockey Tournament. This year’s event took place at the Aurora Community Centre. This event has become a cherished tradition and highly anticipated event in the St. Andrew’s school year. The tournament is one of the most respected and well-organized high school hockey tournaments in North America. It is named after Lloyd MacPherson, who was Assistant to the Headmaster of St. Andrew’s from 1957- 1982, and was regarded as the standard bearer for the School’s Scottish traditions. Some of these traditions are still felt throughout the tournament, including an on-ice performance of St. Andrew’s spectacular Pipes and Drums Band, and celebrations of and references to SAC's loyal Old Boys and past faculty. The St. Andrew’s Saints start the new year with a record of 16 wins and 7 losses. This year, the Varsity team boasts a roster of 7 grade 12 students, and 13 very talented underclassmen. The boys made it to the consolation round. Great work boys! For more information please call (905) 727-3178.
