Discovery Days for Kids
AHS staff has created a rotating schedule of programming so that returning visitors will be able to try something new. Four different activities will be presented throughout the summer. These activities will be adapted to suit children of all ages, from toddlers to pre-teens.
Some examples of activities happening during Discovery Days for Kids this summer:
Nature Detectives: Children will explore the Hillary House National Historic Site property searching for plants and bugs.
Dig It!: Visitors will get the chance to become archaeologists while participating in a mock archaeological dig. The archaeologists in training will explore the methods used by archaeologists while uncovering exciting artefacts.
Scavenger Hunt: Children will be tasked with locating notable items in all rooms of Hillary House, after having received a tour of the site. Participants will then draw, or paint, their favourite artefact.
