The first weekend of December brings a tradition back to York Region this year: the 33rd annual Rotary TV Charity Auction. The auction is broadcast throughout York Region on Rogers Community Channel, Cable 10 in Aurora.
This year includes many of the auction items that customers have grown to expect: Toronto Raptors Basketball tickets, jewelry, restaurant and store gift certificates, clothing, small appliances, and gift baskets.
For the person who really has everything, there are truly unique sports memorabilia items. With the recent UFC World Welter Weight Title defense by Canadian Georges St. Pierre, there will be huge interest in autographed boxer shorts that are an exact replica of the ones worn by Georges. There are also autographed jerseys by hockey hall of famers including Bobby Hull, Johnny Bower, Guy Lafleur and Jean Beliveau.
Another interesting item may be the glider flight, with an experienced glider pilot. A list of all the items, along with approximately when they will be auctioned, is available at www.tvrotary.com.
