Family Business Matters
Aurora author and consultant John Geddes held an official launch party at Timberlane Athletic Club for his new book titled Succession & the Family Business. The book goes in depth as to how families deal with the trials and tribulations of the family business once the original owners (mom and dad) want to retire. The book talks about selling the business compared to the children inheriting it and the important avenues to consider when making the decision. John has been working as a consultant within the industry for 20 years and understands fully the complexities that are presented in that time of transition. John felt it was a great time to publish his book since baby boomers are coming up to the time of retirement and will be considering these matters more and more.
